Important Canine Disease Prevention
Distemper and Parvovirus
Adult dogs should
be given annual distemper (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis,
and Parainfluenza) and Parvovirus vaccinations.
Rabies
After the initial inoculation,
the rabies vaccine is given every three years to adult
dogs.
Heartworm Disease
Spread by
mosquitos, heartworms live in a dog's bloodstream and
can be deadly, not to mention expensive to treat. All
dogs should be tested for heartworm disease annually
with a quick blood test and given preventative medication
regularly to insure against contracting this serious
disease.
